Born in a small village in Piemonte, northern Italy, Michael John Guzzon’s journey into hairstyling was destined from the start. With both parents, Alice and Placido, deeply rooted in the craft as professional hairdressers, Michael was immersed in the world of hair from an early age. Spending his childhood in his family’s hair salon, he quickly became aware of the darker side of the industry: the damaging effects of chemicals not only on hair but also on the health of clients and hairstylists alike.
This realization became deeply personal when Michael’s mother, after decades of exposure to chemical hair coloring, fell ill- a stark reminder of the industry’s harmful practices. At just 12 years old, Michael began working in the salon, observing and questioning everything about traditional hairdressing. While earning a degree in IT computing, he continued to explore his passion for hairstyling, eventually moving to Milan at age 20 to work with some of the world’s most talented professionals in the fashion industry.
It was in those early years that Michael committed himself to a life mission: to research, discover, and create a healthier, alternative way of hairdressing. This mission became his obsession, a philosophy that would later define the “Michael John Guzzon”™ brand.
