Michael John Guzzon

Born in a small village in Piemonte, northern Italy, Michael‘s life has always been driven by his passion for hairstyling. Both of his parents, Alice and Placido, are hairdressers. Since he was old enough to hold a pair of scissors, his future as a hairstylist was inevitable.

From a really young age, he enjoyed hanging around the family hair salon, and at 12 years old, he eventually started helping out with shampooing and cleaning after school. He still attained a degree in IT computing while working in the afternoons and over the holidays at his parent’s salon, spending just as much time exploring his passion for hairstyling.

At 20 years old, he moved to Milan to work alongside the best hairstylist in the fashion industry. He started working for Aldo Coppola, well known as one of the best hairdressers in the world. Having the opportunity to become his personal assistant at such a young age was incredibly valuable.

Michael John quickly moved up the ranks and, at the age of 25, became Art director and partner in one of the company’s atelier.

He was then asked to move to London to become head of the Aldo Coppola London atelier, which under his supervision, became one of the most successful salons in town with a team of over 35 people.

After 14 years in the company and 10 years as art director, he left to pursue his childhood dream, which was to create a brand that fully mirrors his philosophy and love for hair. Thus, the ‘Michael John Guzzon’ brand was born, after 25 years lived trough passion of hairstyling.

He was then asked to move to London to become head of the Aldo Coppola London atelier, which under his supervision, became one of the most successful salons in town with a team of over 35 people.
